PU 40 is a one-component sealant that cures with air humidity at room temperature, forming an elastomer with excellent flexibility.
Application:
Joining metal sheets and profiles (such as those used in
bodywork). Sealing dry boxes and cargo containers. Grouting of doors,
windows and gates. Perimeter sealing of domes, doors, windows and gates.
Characteristics:
High hardness for higher resistance applications. Excellent
adhesion on most construction
materials. Resists expansion/contraction movements up to 25%.
Benefits:
Can be painted. Does not drain in vertical applications.
Instructions for use:
1. Application surfaces must be cleaned with alcohol or acetone, dry and
firm. Do not use kerosene or gasoline to clean surfaces.
2. Open the cartridge tip and cut the applicator nozzle at a 45° angle to the
desired size and thickness. Screw the applicator nozzle onto the cartridge
and place it on the applicator gun.
3. Apply the adhesive in the form of fillets.
4. During gluing, we recommend placing hooks so that there is no movement of
the piece to be glued.
5. If the pieces are heavy, use a support (adhesive tape, shim, etc.) until the
adhesive is completely dry.
6. Total drying occurs after 24 hours to 48 hours depending on the climate,
amount of adhesive and weight of the pieces to be fixed.
Limitations of use:
1. For all surfaces that remove oil, plasticizers or solvents such as wood
immersed in oil, surfaces when wet and walls with peeling coating.
2. It should not be applied to polystyrene foam material and plastics:
polyethylene, polypropylene and Teflon.
3. In the case of walls where there is paint, check their conditions in search
of possible peeling and, if necessary, sanding at the application site.
4. For surfaces that have direct contact with food.
5. It cannot be used as a structural adhesive.
6. Cannot be painted.
